Can student, with a tier-4 visa expired for a few days, travel within the UK by plane?

Hello, Can a student, with visa Tier-4 expiring on the 8th of July 2011 but with a flight back to their country not until the 31 July 2011, travel orund de UK by plane between the 8 and 31???
